To Our Valued Customers,
On the morning of April 3, a 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck the western side of Taiwan in rural Hualien County, approximately 93 miles from the capital of Taipei.
Sherex Taiwan, situated in Chungli City in the northwestern part of the country, experienced no damage, and all employees are safe. Sherex Taiwan is currently operating as usual, and we will promptly advise if any issues arise.
Our thoughts are with those who were impacted by this severe earthquake.

Renewable energy projects are booming all over the world. Wind and solar lead the way as more and more countries are turning toward these cleaner energies for power.
While both solar and wind don’t require manual operation to create power unlike a traditional gas- or coal-fired power plants, solar and wind farms do feature critical components that require maintenance.
Sherex’s line of wedge locking washers and nuts can help decrease maintenance costs by securing the joints that loosen over time due to vibration.
Both solar and wind farms are exposed to the elements throughout their entire life. Rain, snow, ice, and wind can cause critical joints to loosen over time. Solar farms around the United States rely on TEC Series and Disc-Lock products to strengthen racking system and ensure it won’t loosen due to vibration. Both Disc-Lock and TEC Series washers and nuts ensure installers that the racking system won’t be comprised.
It’s quite obvious that wind turbines have lots of vibration. Not only are the blades constantly spinning when the wind blows, but like a solar farm, it’s also exposed to the elements. Disc-Lock washers and locking nuts can be used to help secure critical joints on a wind turbine. Whether it’s at the base or actually inside the turbine itself.
These small but critical washers and nuts save on maintenance costs and they ensure safety since components won’t loosen or become compromised.

May 18, 2020 (Tonawanda, NY) – Sherex Fastening Solutions, a global leader in engineered fasteners, tooling, and automation, is excited to announce the release of its Hand Tool Calibration Unit.
The Hand Tool Calibration Unit measures the pulling force for both pneumatic and hydro-pneumatic rivet nut tools to ensure the tool is meeting the required setting force to install into the application.
With the ability to measure the pulling force of a tool before performing an install, operators are assured the tool is calibrated correctly for a perfect install. This will help manufactures and operators improve the quality of their rivet nut installations in real time.
“The development of the Hand Tool Calibration Unit is a direct result from feedback from our customers and manufactures,” said Sherex president, Adam Pratt. “Our customers wanted a tool that could show the pulling force of both pneumatic and hydro-pneumatic tools, and get results in real time. Manufacturers and operators will see an increase in quality, and will be able to better determine if their spin-spin or spin-pull tools need to be calibrated or require maintenance.”
Improving the quality of rivet nut installations has trickle-down benefits that will help manufactures save money, schedule maintenance, and decrease waste.
“This is more than just a calibration unit, it’s a tool to ensure quality,” Pratt said. “Every manufacture that uses pneumatic or hydro-pneumatic tools to install rivet nuts should have this asset at their work station.”
